Incoming Students
Congratulations on your acceptance to Brooklyn College!
We are excited that you are joining our graduate community. The information below will guide you step by step through the process of enrolling in your program.
1) Confirm Your Admissions
Accept the offer of admissions through your Apply Yourself account.
2) Pay Commitment Deposits
There are many ways for you to pay the $250 commitment deposit (PDF). This deposit will be credited toward your first-semester tuition. You will not be able to activate your student account until you have confirmed your admissions and paid the commitment deposit. Allow the Office of Graduate Admissions three to five business days to enter your information into the system before trying to log into your student account. You will receive an e-mail once your account is activated.
3) Activate Your Student Accounts
In order to gain access to important student features and campus services, you must claim your student accounts. Consult this guide for more information (PDF).
4) Submit Your Immunizations
You are required to submit immunization forms with documentation to the Health Programs Office before registering for classes. (Note: Current and former CUNY students do not need to submit forms.)
5) Join an Incoming Student Session
We will be hosting bi-weekly incoming students info sessions to assist students you with the admissions process. RSVP to attend.
6) Seek Academic Advisement
Advisement is essential to your academic experience. You are encouraged to seek assistance from your academic adviser or graduate deputy to develop an academic plan. You can also visit DegreeWorks to view your program’s academic plan. Note: Access to DegreeWorks is available one week after receiving confirmation that your CUNYfirst account has been activated. You must claim your CUNYfirst account to sign in. After speaking with your adviser, register for classes on CUNYfirst.

ID Cards
You must be a registered student to obtain a valid Brooklyn College ID card to gain access to campus facilities. You may obtain your college ID card from the Enrollment Services Center. After you have obtained your Brooklyn College ID, feel free to download our mobile app BC Navigator to access your electronic ID and other services.
Fingerprinting Verification
If you are accepted into the School of Education, you are required to submit fingerprinting verification before signing up for most education classes.
Housing/Accommodations
Students seeking housing may consider contacting Educational Housing Services, a private company that provides dormitory rooms for students in various colleges and universities in New York.
